Kate's big day

Playing with friends -- Our birthday princess

Riding in her new wagon -- Her best friend, Grisham

"HHHOT" -- Just getting started

MMM!!!

Kate had a great birthday weekend. Her party was fun and she loved digging in to the cake. It was everywhere by the time she was finished. She got lots of fun new things to play with. It was a fun time to celebrate her and be thankful for blessing she is to us.
She went to the doctor yesterday for her one year check up. She is doing great and the doctor was pleased with her development. She weighed in at 22lbs 6.5oz and she is 31.5 inches long. She is off the charts for a 12 month old in terms of height...the same size of an avg 18 month old. She is making the switch to whole milk and doesn't seem to mind it. She is walking around really well now. She does more walking than crawling. She's still a little wobbly at times, but she gets right back up to try again. She keeps me going and we have lots of fun every day.
I went to the doctor Monday for a check up. The baby's heartbeat was strong and sounded good. We go in about 3 weeks for the big ultrasound and we're hoping to find out if Kate will have a little brother or sister. We'll keep you posted!

One Year Ago...

It's hard to believe that it was a year ago that we were welcoming Kate into the world and our lives. We feel so blessed to have such a wonderful little girl and thank God daily for her. We're celebrating today with lots of family time, some favorite places and a few new toys. She has no clue it's her birthday, but we're having fun with it. Just wanted to post a few pictures from the past year. We look at them often in amazement of how much she's grown and and how much we've experienced and learned in the last year. Enjoy!

A few minutes old --- 1 week old

2 months old --- 3 months old

Halloween --- 5 months old

7 months old --- 8 months old

9 months old --- 10 months old

July 4th weekend

We've had a great weekend together as a family. Thursday Kate and I got to tag along with Dan at a work lunch and then to a job site. It was fun to hang out with him all day and get a yummy lunch at Mimi's Cafe. Kate was such a good girl in the restaurant and ate like a champ.
After her nap we went to the park that has all the typical play stuff, but also a water area. Kate had a blast. Dan walked all over with her while I took pictures and video. She loved playing and watching all the kids around her.
Friday we went to another park and had a picnic lunch and played around with Grisham. After Kate's nap we went across the street to a neighbor's and cooked out with them. Our friends, Cory & Jane, got to come with us. It was nice to hang out with our newest neighbors. Kate ate her first cupcake and LOVED it. She has a sweet tooth like her daddy and mommy. We had planned to go downtown to watch fireworks, but as the day wore on we decided against fighting the crowd. It was a good thing because a huge storm hit. We listened to the fireworks all our neighbors were shooting off instead.
Saturday we took Kate to the mall to play and eat some Chick-fil-A. She had a blast playing, watching all the other kids, and taking lots of steps. We then went to Toys'r'us to pick out her birthday present. I can't believe she'll be one on Thursday. We're having a cookout on Saturday with some friends to celebrate her big day. I'll post photos and videos of the big day next weekend. Until then enjoy the new videos to the right.

Frankenstein

Life is going well in TN. I've been super tired and a little sick with this baby growing inside me. I can tell he/she is getting bigger...the belly bump has begun. This pregnancy has definitely been easier than the last and it is definitely going faster. I'm 14 weeks.
Kate's doing great. She's taking steps on her own in between things. She does look like Frankenstein though...hands out, knees not bending with each step, and an occasional "rrrraaarrrr" as she goes along. It's hilarious!!! I've yet to capture any video of this, but I definitely will and post it soon.
