New things happening

We had a great visit with our friends, Randolph, Amanda & Cora on Saturday in Chattanooga. We went to eat and then walked around downtown. We made a stop at Ben & Jerry's for ice cream and got a cute shot of the girls.
Kate is doing some fun new things. She's pulling up on everything to stand up...me, dishwasher door, cabinets in pantry, laundry baskets, couch. Amanda brought us a walker to borrow for Kate. She loves it!! She actually walks behind it. Dan or I walk with her to make sure she doesn't take a bad fall. Tonight she was pushing me away like she was ready to do it all by herself. She's very independent. She might be walking before summer. I'd love for her to walk before we go to the beach in June. Walking on sand sounds so much better to me than crawling. She is waving "bye bye" on cue. She gives you "five". She says "na na na", but hasn't gotten "ma ma ma" yet. I'm working hard on that one. She loves crawling in the cabinet and emptying out the food and playing with it. Today I turned around and she was munching on some marshmallows that she managed to get in to. There were several scattered on the floor with nibble marks. She likes marshmallows. It seems like her top teeth are beginning to come in. She's been a little cranky and her gums are super swollen. I'll keep you posted on those.
Today at lunch she refused to eat anything off a spoon, so I made her a plate of chicken, beans and mac'n'cheese. Watch this video to see how that went.
Kate and I are heading to Athens this weekend for my best friend, Allison's baby shower. Her and John are having a little boy in July. I can't wait to see her pregnant. That's all for now. Enjoy the pictures and video. She keeps us laughing and brings us so much joy!!!

Good Friday

We've had a really good week with great weather and time to enjoy the outdoors. All of our allergies have been in full swing this week, but we've pushed through it with minimal doses of Benadryl. Dan went out of town on Wednesday for a meeting in Atlanta so it was just kate and I for a night. We went downtown to Sara's house for a girls' night out with other ladies from church. We had a fun time, but couldn't stay long because Kate was getting sleepy. On Thursday, Kate went to Sara's house and spent some time with her and their girls while I enjoyed some time alone. I didn't know what to do with myself. I should have come home and worked around the house, but instead I went shopping. I got Dan's anniversary gift and I can't wait to give it to him. It was good for her and for me to have time apart. Dan came home Thursday night and was beat from all the driving. We slept until 7:30 this morning which is very unusual for us. After Kate's morning nap she and I ran a couple errands and then stopped at the park so she could swing for a few minutes. It was a nice day and I got a few good pics. She loves to swing, but mostly likes to watch all the other kids play. She enjoyed going down the slide too with my help of course. Tonight we all went downtown for the Dogwood Arts Festival parade. We hung out with Sean and Sara and their girls and Zane and Ashley. Kate enjoyed looking at all the people and playing with the shaker they were passing out to all the kids. We even got a couple gourmet treats for Grisham. Now we're winding down. Tomorrow we're meeting Randolph and Amanda and Cora in Chattanooga for the day...we can't wait to see them!
Enjoy the pics...that's all for now.Playing outside in the grass...she's still not sure what to think of the grass. Thankfully she hasn't started eating it yet.

Swinging is FUN!!!
YIPPEE!!!
She's so cool!

Pictures

UT cheerleader in the making.
We could send this in for a Cheerios ad.
Go VOLS!!
Could Dan fit anymore sunflower seeds in his mouth?

Catching up

Just wanted to catch up on our lives. We went to the Orange and White game on Saturday and had a great time. Kate was an angel and did so well...even though it was naptime. She cheered on the Vols quite well. We came home and she crashed for a little bit. Dan fixed dinner while I took a power nap too.
Sunday we went to church. Kate did really well. I only missed the last 5 minutes of the service to go get her. She gets so worked up in there. She slept a lot on Sunday. She napped for an hour in the a.m., 2.5 hours in the early p.m. and then another hour later. After her nap she woke with a 101.2 fever. Tylenol knocked it out and she seemed fine after that. She slept fine that night even though she slept so much during the day. It seems like her body is fighting off a cold or something. She's had a runny nose for a week and a little cough too. She acts fine though so I'm not worried. Our neighbor, Hannah, and Madison from church had the same short fever too, so maybe it's a little virus. Guess work.
Yesterday Dan worked a while and then played golf with our pastor, pastor's brother, and our worship leader. Kate and I went to lunch with Sara, our pastor's wife, and another friend, Renee. We went to the Grill downtown and had a great time. Kate was so good the whole time we were there. She loves to be out with lots of people that she can watch and smile at. I think she'll be outgoing like Dan...she can make anybody smile. The rest of the day she was pretty grumpy. Last night we went to Dan's softball game. He's playing on a team with guys from Knoxville Life Church. They try really hard, but they haven't won a game yet. It's pretty frustrating for the guys who are competitive. Again, Kate enjoyed being out with all the people. It was a great night to be outside.
I think we're going to stay in today and try to eliminate as much pollen as possible from Kate's system. The Benadryl I gave her this morning seems to have helped since she woke up from her nap. Hopefully by Saturday she'll be much better...we're going to Chattanooga to meet up with our friends, Randolph and Amanda.
Posting pictures are next on my list of things to do.

ROCKY TOP

We're going to the UT Orange and White game today. It'll be Kate's first UT football game. I promise to post pictures later.
We've had a pretty good week. Nothing really new to share. Kate is crawling everywhere with no fear and is so fast. I'm amazed at the amount of ground she can cover in just a split second. She is pulling up on things more and more and trying to stand as much as possible.
Dan is doing well and still enjoying his job. He's staying busy, but we love having him home every night.
I promise some new pictures later. Have a fun weekend!

9 month check-up

Kate and I went to a new doctor today for her 9 month check-up. I wouldn't say we had fun, but things went well. The doctor was pleased with her health and the lungs she has on her. Kate cried the last 15 minutes we were there while struggling to go to sleep.
She weighs 20 lbs. 9 oz. and she is 29 inches long. Dr. Phillips said we are right on track.
Hope you all are doing well and we'll post some more this week.

Naptime drama

It's been a long week. Kate has not been taking naps the last three days...it's been crazy. Not sure if she's teething and she just can't sleep or if she really doesn't want to miss out on all the fun in the Weber household. Either way, it's been a long week with an overtired little girl. My friend, Sara, gave me a great pep talk today that really encouraged me. Sara has two girls that are 3 & 2 years old so she knows just what I'm going through. She encouraged me to not give in to her crying because she is old enough to know what's going to get Mommy in the room. We've got some re-training to do. I'm thankful she's still sleeping through the night though.
Otherwise, we've had a nice week. She is crawling everywhere and not afraid of anything it seems. I was cooking dinner and she crawled in to Dan's office where there were no lights on. She didn't look back once. She's figured out the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen. She's beginning to pull up on things. Our little girl is growing fast, but she is so much fun!
Here are a couple pictures for you to enjoy. She's very tempted by Grisham's food and water, but listens well. It's about time to move Grisham outside though and take away the temptation. She loves playing at the sofa table and pulling things off the shelf. She does a great job reorganizing my purse and her diaper bag.

We had a great weekend

We took today off to recover from a great weekend with Granny and Aunt Tracie. They came to visit on Thursday. For some reason they thought Kate didn't have any toys, so they brought a car full of toys, clothes and stuffed animals. I'm not sure where we will keep all of them, but Kate had a blast!
Granny bought Kate a potty seat that has all the bells and whistles...it sings and lights up. Kate is enjoying playing with it and dancing to the music.
Among a dozen other things, Aunt Tracie bought her some sunglasses that are too cute!
On Sunday we went to church, which is not Kate's favorite place. She ended up in the service with me sitting on the floor in the back playing with another little girl about a month older, Sierra. She was doing well until Sierra playfully growled at her and scared Kate to death. She screamed bloody murder as I whisked her out of the room. It was very funny. After church we took Kate to her first baseball game at UT. She was such a good girl and enjoyed watching all the people. She endured the sun and heat quite well.Check out this video of Kate that cracks me up! I'm not sure if she discovered her tongue or what, but I was crying I was laughing so hard. We love our little girl!!!

A day in the life of Kate

Our typical day starts around 7:30 with Kate playing in her bed...usually peek-a-boo with her blanket. She eats breakfast and then we play while watching Mickey Mouse Playhouse-her favorite show. She naps around 9:30 and that's when I get a few things done. Lunch is around 11:30 and then we play some more. Nap again around 1:30. Dinner at 6:00. Play with Daddy & Mommy. Wheel of Fortune at 7:00. Bath at 7:30. Bed at 8:00. That's our typical day with other fun things thrown in here and there.
Here are a few photos from last week.
We can have fun with anything!
"How big is Kate?" "SO BIG!!"
That's a fun game my mom used to play with me when I was little. Good fun!

Eyes

I'm really confused about what color Kate's eyes are. Most days they look hazel, but other days they look green or blue. This morning as I fed Kate breakfast, it looked like one was blue and one was green. What the heck?
