Facebook

I guess I'm realizing that it is easier and less time consuming to upload pictures to facebook than it is the blog.
Maybe there is a way to link the two, but until I figure that out, check out my facebook page for updated pictures.

Santa has visited our house and we're ready for a fun day tomorrow.

Just a quick update, Kannon is well on his way to walking full time. He'll walk across the room to get to something and has great control. Kate is enjoying his development in this area and even told me yesterday that she wanted to play with him over doing playdough. They love each other and are going to be good buds. This is when I'm thankful they are close in age. Kannon is expressing his opinion more and more. Most of the time we can figure out what he's wanting, but we continue to learn his language. He is done with bottles (thank God!) and will be starting on whole milk this weekend. I can't believe he'll be 1 on Saturday. Time really has flown by. He makes us laugh constantly as you will see in the pics on facebook.

Kate recognizes most letters and calls them out when we are out and about. She loves to count things and most of the time she is accurate. She is pretty good until the upper teens and then she gets a little confused. She is very imaginative and can make anything fun. She is a TV-junkie and would watch it all day if we let her. Her latest favorite is Little Einsteins on Disney. She has enjoyed the time with our families the last couple of weeks and loved getting to play with them. It's hard living far away, but we make the most of it. She really enjoys her preschool class and getting to go play and learn new things.

Well, check on facebook for the pictures and I'll do my best to upload some Christmas morning shots this weekend.

Merry Christmas from the Weber's!

Summer Fun & Kate's 2nd Birthday

We went down to south GA to visit my parents last week. We also took a side trip to Orlando to visit my brother, his family and some extended family members. We had a great time and it was an adventure to travel with our little ones. They did so well considering all the change we went through. The pictures are in no particular order, simply because they loaded in no particular order. Enjoy

Kate's birthday - I can't believe my little girl is 2. She is a big girl and I'm so proud of her. She loves to take care of her baby dolls. She holds them and changes their diapers. She feeds them their bottle and cereal just like I do for Kannon. It's really cute. She is very crafty. She loves to color and do playdough. She would be a TV junky if I let her. She loves to watch Curious George and Sesame Street. She got Monsters Inc. for her birthday and she loves to watch "Tickle Monster"...that's what she calls it. She likes to play with her friend, Hannah, next door. They give each other a big hug everytime they see one another. They both like to bring an extra toy or snack along to share with each other. She's showing a little more interest in the "big girl potty". Last weekend she told Dan she needed to go "poo-poo" and actually did her business on the potty. I'm so proud and had no issues with giving her a handful of jelly beans afterwards. I'm going to start full-blown potty training next week. Any advice?

Kannon is getting so big. Isn't he a stud? At his 6 month appointment, he weighed 17.5 pounds and is 27.5 inches long. He's growing and developing great. He's rolling all over the place and pushes up on his arms really well. I know it won't be long and he'll be off crawling. He said "mama" for the first time two weeks ago. I was so proud. This week he's discovered "dada" and hasn't stopped saying it. It's so cute! I'm working on capturing a video to share - he stops everytime I point the camera his way. He's chewing and drooling non-stop, but no signs of a tooth. He's eating everything I offer him and doesn't seem too particular. He's still having reflux issues, but he's not in any pain since we started him on antacids a few months ago. It just leaves me with a lot of laundry at the end of every day. He seems much more active and talkative than Kate was at this age. I think we'll have our hands full once he is mobile. He loves to play with toys that have eyes (stuffed animals, etc.). He sits and talks to them like they understand him. It's cute.

Thanks for being patient with me on the blog - it's just not high enough on the priority/to-do list.
Quick update on the grown-ups. Dan's job is going well. He's settling in to the new company and position and starting to get a handle on all the new products he's selling. He's such a great dad - Kate adores her daddy and Kannon just thinks he's hilarious. I'm doing well too. I stay busy all the time with wife, mommy and part-time employee duties. I'm so thankful I get to be home and experience every little thing with my family and wouldn't change it for anything.

Memorial Day Weekend

We started the weekend on Friday night going for a walk in the neighborhood. As we passed our neighbors house, we stopped to talk. The kids (Kate, their 3 year old boy and 1 year old girl) ended up jumping in the little kiddie pool in their clothes. They had a blast jumping around and playing. I didn't have the camera with me to capture the fun.
Saturday we went to Evansville, TN to see our friends, Tim and Missy from our old small group in GA. Kate enjoyed playing with Ansley, their almost 4 year old. She did everything Ansley did. We also got to meet their newest, Peyton. He's a sweet baby.
Sunday was a lazy day and so for Memorial Day we decided to do a picnic lunch at the park so Kate could go play. She had a great time and was worn out! We ended the long weekend with dinner at our neighbors house getting to know them and another family. It's nice to have good neighbors. Here are some pictures and a cute video.

Kate did not want to wear the shoes I bought for her. She ended up wearing bright pink sneakers. Thankfully they matched pretty well.

Where's Elmo?

Kate's favorite toy has become Elmo. She rarely goes anywhere without it and when she does we hold our breath and hope she doesn't realize he didn't make it in the car with us. She is talking and putting sentences together really well. She loves to sing her ABC's and count everything in sight. She gets to 13 before getting mixed up on her numbers. She also loves to sing while she plays - sometimes it is "Happy Birthday" or "Jesus Loves Me". She's our little song bird.

Kate and her friend, Hannah, did an Easter Egg Hunt this weekend. They both got the hang of it pretty quickly and looked cute with matching shirts.

Kannon is holding his head up really well and so we thought we'd try the exersaucer out. He's a little wobbly still, but enjoyed reaching for all the different toys. Kate likes to share her toys with Kannon. Elmo rarely gets shared with anyone other than Kannon...she's a good big sis'.

Here they are watching Sesame Street together. I love these kids!!!

Ho-Ho-Ho

Like everyone else, we've been busy the last several weeks. We had a great Thanksgiving with Renee's parents in town. Kate adores them and had fun playing. They taught her Ring-Around-The-Roses...check out this video. She hasn't wanted to play it since they went home.

Kate started going to a Parents' Day Out program at a local church two days a week on December 1. She likes her teacher and adjusted well despite her attachment to home and Mommy. She missed last week because she was sick, but she'll get to go this week.

She is enamored with The Little Mermaid movie. She asks to watch it about 50 times a day. She also enjoys watching Sesame Street and can name all the characters and is beginning to recognize some of the letters and numbers. We limit her TV viewing to a minimum per day. She still really loves to read books and coloring.

We're getting ready for Kannon to arrive. Three weeks to go, but we're hoping he's a few days early and will have a 2008 birthday. We're ready for him to arrive and begin the journey as a family of four.

We're looking forward to Christmas and how much fun Kate will be this year. She quickly learned to say "Ho-Ho-Ho" anytime she sees anything related to Christmas. Our next post will either be Christmas pictures or pictures of Kannon. Merry Christmas!!!

Happy Halloween

We've had some uneventful couple of weeks since the last post. We've all had a cold that we're still trying to get over.
Kate is trying to make the switch from two to one nap during the day. We've only done it a couple days and she seems to be adjusting well. She is playing by herself for 15-20 minutes at a time - usually in her kitchen. She is talking and singing and dancing and twirling like none other.
Kannon is right on schedule for a New Year's arrival. I went to the doctor this week and everything looks good. I'm going every two weeks now. We've begun moving things around to get his room ready and should have his crib setup this weekend for him. I'm ready to have it all settled and ready for his arrival.
To celebrate Halloween Kate was a bunny. She thought she was pretty hot stuff. Thursday night we went to a fall festival at our church and she had a good time getting candy, playing games and watching everyone run around her. Last night we went trick-or-treating with our next door neighbors. Their little girl, Hannah, was a giraffe. They were quite the pair. Enjoy the pictures!

Kate's big day

Playing with friends -- Our birthday princess

Riding in her new wagon -- Her best friend, Grisham

"HHHOT" -- Just getting started

MMM!!!

Kate had a great birthday weekend. Her party was fun and she loved digging in to the cake. It was everywhere by the time she was finished. She got lots of fun new things to play with. It was a fun time to celebrate her and be thankful for blessing she is to us.
She went to the doctor yesterday for her one year check up. She is doing great and the doctor was pleased with her development. She weighed in at 22lbs 6.5oz and she is 31.5 inches long. She is off the charts for a 12 month old in terms of height...the same size of an avg 18 month old. She is making the switch to whole milk and doesn't seem to mind it. She is walking around really well now. She does more walking than crawling. She's still a little wobbly at times, but she gets right back up to try again. She keeps me going and we have lots of fun every day.
I went to the doctor Monday for a check up. The baby's heartbeat was strong and sounded good. We go in about 3 weeks for the big ultrasound and we're hoping to find out if Kate will have a little brother or sister. We'll keep you posted!
