Guess I better update the blog...

So it's been a while and I apologize. Life has been busy lately with little time to do extras. Kate is moving very quickly and I'm constantly chasing after her, removing Grisham's bone from her hands or picking up in the wake of her destruction. She's crazy!!! But she's so much fun and brings great joy to us.
She's really in to walking...that's all she wants to do. Unfortunately for our backs she has to hold on to our fingers. She's getting good and I'm predicting walking on her own within a month. She crawls up behind me all the time and pulls up on my legs. It doesn't matter what I'm doing or where I'm at.She's done with baby food. She screams and flails her arms if we come close to her with a spoon of pureed food. We've resorted to crackers, cheese, peas, beans, hot dogs, macaroni & cheese and the sort.
Kate and I leave tomorrow to visit with my family in south GA and then on to Orlando. Dan will meet us there the end of the week and we're off to the beach for a week with Tim, Missy & Ansley. We're looking forward to getting away, seeing family and time with friends. I'll have lots of pictures and fun stories from our travels. I look forward to sharing them with you. Until then, here are some recent pictures.
Kate's attempt at feeding herself cereal....YIKES!!!She ate 3 strawberries at dinner the other night. Her diaper the next morning was interesting. She still enjoys sticking out her tongue too.Daddy playtime. They have the best time together. They were laughing and squealing. Kate has the best dad in all the world!

Big Stuff

We think Kate is big stuff because last night she pottied in the big girl potty. She's had her potty seat for a couple months, but it's been more of a toy than anything. We decided we'd put her on it while we got her bath ready. Much to my surprise she actually went. Her potty seat sings, lights up and even cheers when she goes...so we just waited and suddenly it says, "YEA! You went potty!" I couldn't believe it. We were super excited and called Granny (Dan's mom) to tell her the exciting news since she got Kate the potty seat. She won't be potty trained as young as Dan was (9 months old), but maybe she'll get the hang of it sooner than later. No rush though.

Kate's best friend

Top tooth is here

Kate has cut one of her top teeth. We found it the other morning. That explains the sudden outbursts of crying over the weekend and more than usual fussiness. She seems to feel alright, but the other top tooth feels like it could pop through any day too.
Her most recent trick is sticking out her tongue when we ask, "Kate, where's your tongue?" It's super cute. I haven't captured a picture yet, but I'll post one when we do.
Kate and I were in GA last weekend for Allison's baby shower. It was so fun to see her and John. Allison looks super cute with her pregnant belly. Only 2 months to go for her. We also saw Heather and Donna at the shower-they are friends from college. Kate was great in the car. I was hesitant with the 4.5 hour ride, but she did great-both ways. She managed to entertain herself when she wasn't napping.Kate's favorite room in the house is the kitchen. This picture is of her emptying the ziploc baggies from the drawer. She thought she was hot stuff. She wants to stand up all the time-she even stood for about 3 seconds on her own the other day. She'll be walking before we know it. Time is flying by and she's getting so big. She's such a blessing and I thank God every day for her.
